RIVERS ALLOCATION SEIZURE ORDER: RIVERS YOUTHS APPLAUDS APPEAL COURT
Some youths in Rivers State are expressing excitement over Friday December 13 judgement of the Court of Appeal, dismissing an earlier judgement of the the Federal High Court that barred the the Federal Government from releasing monthly allocation to Rivers State.
The Chairman of the Rivers State Ethnic Youth Leaders Coalition, Engr. Legborsi Yamaabana in his commendation, said the decision of the Court of Appeal to set aside the order of the Federal High Court barring the Federal Government through the Central Bank of Nigeria and bankers of the Rivers State Government from releasing her monthly allocations is a welcome development.
In a short voice note circulated to media houses in Port Harcourt, Engr. Yamaabana described the judgement of the appellate court as a win for true democracy and applauded the courage of the Jurists in setting the record straight.
“Today’s appeal court judgement is a Christmas gift to the civil servants of our beloved state and a win for true democracy.
My special commendations go to the judges, who have proven that the court is not a supermarket, where injustice can be purchased at will but a true temple of Justice,” he stated.
In a statement signed by the SSA Media and Publicity, Hycient Ana Engr. Yamaabana, who doubles as the President General, Ogoni Youth Federation also lauded Governor Siminalayi Fubara and the State Legal Team for standing tall against the machinations of people he described as enemies of Rivers people.
